You don't forget your first Francesinha. I had mine here and it was fantastic. Excellent sauce, delicious sandwich, throw those fries into the mix and enjoy.

4.6/5 In Porto, where the Francesinha borders on a civic treasure, Dona Francesinha offers a version firmly rooted in tradition. It’s a demanding dish: a toast layered with several kinds of meat, cloaked in melted cheese, baked, then immersed in a specific sauce, and crowned with a fried egg. In lesser hands, it can feel heavy, even excessive. Here, it becomes a considered statement. The meats are cooked with care, the cheese melts as it should, and the bread, though softened by the sauce, retains just enough resistance to remind you it was once crisp. It is a dish less to be hurried through than to be absorbed slowly, with attention. The dining room is charming in its simplicity, and the staff are attentive in a way that frames the meal without intruding upon it. Is it the finest Francesinha in Porto? That remains unanswered. What is clear, however, is that it is worth a visit and worth the experience.

The staff were very accommodating with my food restrictions. The food was quite ok but please when the restaurant is half empty don’t seat your customers at a bad table!

Great comfort food restaurant. The service was not great. We waited five minutes just to get our menus since waitress forgot and took awhile to get back to us. I think they are understaffed. The food was good. We wanted the hamburger dish but they ran out and gave us the steak as replacements. The steaks are pretty small so not great for adults. You will need to supplement with other dishes. Overall, I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The service can use some improvements.

Staff was very welcoming and kind. The service was fast and we could enjoy our francesinha in less than 15 mins. Not very crowded and fair prices. Keep it up! As a thing to improve, please buy some portable POS, so we can pay directly from our table.

I was gladly surprised. Their classic ‘à moda do Porto’ francesinha is great, and the sauce is thick and flavorful. Quality ingredients. Very nice. Optional fried potatoes, and local Super Bock on tap (both lager and stout versions). A place to return to, with friendly staff, a good discovery.
